Website Development - Merchandise Page

When I set up the pages within the website I created a basic template for all of the pages I was able to open the tour page and begin to develop this page straight away. After much thought, and a discussion with Melissa we decided that we would include the slide show banner on every page within the website. We decided to do this as when re-looking over our research we found that most websites of this genre kept the top half of there homepage at the head of every page.

This is the template which I have now created for all of the pages.

The first feature which I am going to add to the page in the name of the page. I am going to ensure that it is positioned in the same place as on the UK tour page. (even thought there is no scrolling text on this page) Next I will insert and position each item for sale. Underneath each item I will write the artists name, what the item is and how much. I have had inspiration for this idea from the merchandise page of Cheryl Cole.

Firstly I have written the text and positioned it beneath where I am going to insert the image. I have written the information in Arial and in size 16. I have used Arial font as it is clear and easy to read as well as showing consistency throughout the website. I have used size 16 font as this is a suitable size as it is clear and easy to read for the audience. Before inserting the image I have to inset a AP DIV and then insert image.

After selecting insert image a pop up box will appear I will then find where the image is saved within the websites folders and click open. On opening the image I need to resize the image so it fits in the space provided.

Now the image is inserted above the text. I have decided to ensure that each image is the same size so the page looks neat and professional. I have decided to re size the image to the size shown as this is the commonly used size featured on websites. This shows that I have researched in detail and am ensuring my product is consistent with existing publications.

This is how each product will be positioned on the merchandise page. I have decided to use the font style Arial for the product information to be written in as it is clear and easy to read and ties in with the fonts used on other products. This shows consistency and a link between the different products.

This is the design I will follow for the rest of the merchandise on both this page and on the Vanessa Carlton Range page.

After inserting all of the products for the merchandise page I have linked each image to an external website called Amazon.I have chosen to do this as amazon is the main retailer which will sell Vanessa Carlton products.

This is the Merchandise page after taking the steps I have shown above.
