Concert Tickets
When showing the target audience this version there were a variety of positive comments and very few negative. The feedback I received called the image "strong and eye catching", " the type of image I would like to, and expect to see on this type of product". The layout and design of the concert ticket was said to be "fantastic, with a good use of space through the layout which looks extremely professional". A few people commented on the font I had selected to use for the main copy and information saying that " the different sizing and letter spacing used is effective and draws your attention to the most important pieces of information". and "the font used conforms with the codes and conventions of a typical concert ticket".
When I asked the people reviewing my product I asked them if they liked the way in which the ticket was broken up with the image. Having the information of the event to the left hand side of the image and the information that was specifically for the purchaser of the ticket to the right of the image. The response I got to this was positive with most of the reviews saying that " it was suitable and very effective" and a good way to break up information and make the ticket interesting".
The few negative comment's I did receive about this design related to this ticket not having the website of the concert hall of which the concert was being held in. I do not feel that this is necessary as the logo and name of the venue has been positioned over the top of the image and is clear and eye catching. I fell that as the name of the venue is situated on the ticket then the purchaser if they feel the need to can look for the website of the venue themselves. I also found that from my research a majority of concert tickets do not posited on include the website of the venue as long as the name and logo is included.
Overall I feel that the comments which I received for this design where fair and reflect what I found when researching concert tickets.
When showing the target audience this version there was a mixture of negative and positive remarks. The target audience that "the image itself and the effect of the image is suitable for type of production but the background does not appeal to me or fit in with what i image a concert ticket image to be" and "the background is too busy and although conforms with the color scheme does, to a certain extent look childish".
When commenting on the font used for the main body and information the viewers said that "the font selected is suitable" and "they way in which you have made the weight of the text stronger for different bits of information as well as using different font sizes". The reviews also commented on the logos and hologram saying that "the images are too bit and a little distracting".
When I asked The viewers' opinions' on the layout of the information and the background. They commented on the background saying that it was "suitable" and "what I would expect to too if the background was not one color or an image". The views approved and liked the way I had centered the main text and had used a red box to highlight and drew attention to the specific information that applied to the purchaser of that ticket. The target audience said that "having the red box means that at a glance the viewer can find the information they specifically need when at the venue" and "center aligning the text makes the ticket look neat and professional" on media student said that "with this type of design having the text center aligned conforms to the codes and conventions and is a feature commonly used".
Concert T-Shirts
When showing the target audience this version of the concert t-shirt I have created I received mostly positive overall but noticeably more positive feedback for the front of the concert t-shirt than the back. When looking at the image positioned on the front of the concert t-shirt. It was said that "having the image positioned in the center of the t-shirt allows the image to still be seen clearly whilst the t-shirt is being worn" and that "the image is suitable and ties in with they type of images taken for exiting concert t-shirts". When reviews the boxes used being the image there where mixed reviews with the majority of people saying "the boxes make the image stand out and tie in with the color scheme" with the minority saying that "the boxes are dominant and draw attention away from the image. I feel that the boxes enhance the image and are suitable and effective.
When looking at the back of this concert t-shirt the majority of the comment where negative with a few positive. The target audience feel that "the rose makes the text less noticeably", and "the font used is hard to read and it would be better if the dates for each venue where separated". On the other hand they felt that the sizing of the font and having the information center aligned where good, strong aspects.
When I showed the people reviewing this product the front design for this version of the concert ticket. The majority of people said that they could not put their finger on it but there was something they didn't like about the image that i had created and saying that they thought the image was "unsuitable for this type of product. Others said that "it might not be the image but the rose petal surround".
The target audience feel that having the full name of the artist positioned on the front of the t-shirt clearly is important and conforms with the codes and conventions. The people reviewing the product noticed the VC on the back of the t-shirt s lined to the front as it used the same font as the first letters of Vanessa Carlton. They said that "having the VC on the back acts like a logo that fans would recognise whilst having her full name on the front advertises the artist.
Lastly I asked the target audience their opinion on the font used for the dates of the concerts, as well as how this information has been laid out. The target audience replied that "the type of font used is correct as it is easy to read" and "the way in which the information has been positioned ensures it is clear and having the dates center aligned means they can easily be seen when the t-shirt is being worn".
Conclusion
From the feedback I have gathered and obtained I have decided what versions of each product I am going to take to our group review. I have decided that I will take the following versions as they received the most positive feedback.
