Filming Canceled...
Our group was meant to film on the 27th and 28th of December but had to cancel due to Melissa, who is playing (Vanessa Carlton) having the flu. We have had a group discussion and have re -scheduled to the 3rd of January where we will go to two locations. These locations are Erith Pier and Danson park. Erith pier is one of the locations which we took photography at so this location ties in with our ancillary tasks.

Concert T-Shirt Two Development
This is the original image which I have taken, and have decided to use as the main image on the front of this concert t-shirt design. I have taken the image using the Green Screen as this allows me to remove the background easily.
I opened the image in Photoshop and the first step I took was to crop the image down by using the crop tool.
I then used the magic wand to remove the background. I decided to take this type of image as I felt from my research it best conformed to the codes and conventions. As the main focus would be on the top half of Melissa's (Vanessa) body.
After removing the background of the image I opened up the effects option on Photoshop. After looking at the different possible effects I selected to use the effect shown below. I decided to use this effect as I felt it was suitable for this type of products and from my research did notice that a majority on concert t-shirt images are edited in a similar way.
This is the image after I had chosen the effect shown above. I now saved the image as a PSD so the document can be easily placed or opening into Adobe Illustrator.
I Adobe Illustrator I opened a blank document into which I placed a blank black t-shirt. When taking the original image I had considered the fact the Melissa (Vanessa) was wearing a black dress but still wished to use this outfit. Due to this i decided that I would position the edited version of the image on to two different color boxes. As The color scheme my group has decided on is black, red and white I have chosen to use both red and white boxes. I began by drawing a red box and slanting the box slightly. I continued to do the same to the white box but slant the box in the opposite direction. This is shown below.
After ensuring that the white box was positioned over the top of the red I placed the image over the top. I decided to position the white box on top of the red as I felt the white made the image stand out the best.
To complete the creation of the front the t-shirt I added Vanessa Carlton name. Again I used the font agreed by my group which as created a brand identity.
After opening the blank t-shirt in another Illustrator document I positioned the year's of the tour along with the tour name (the tour name has not yet been finalised so I will update this when it has). I have decided to feature the tour name and year of the tour as this is a code and convention of a concert t-shirt.
When researching the back of concert t-shirts. I found that there where backs with just text and a back with and image with text placed over the top. for this concert t-shirt design I have decided to position the text over the top of a rose. I have decided to use a rose as this links to the color scheme, theme of the concert s well as tying in with the album cover front and back which another member of my group has created.
I found the image of the rose by using the Google search engine. I copied the image into Photoshop to remove the background and then imported the image into Illustrator to be positioned on to the t-shirt back. This is shown in the print screen below.
Lastly I inserted the list of tour dates and venues. I decided to center align these as I felt this looked professional and is in keeping with the codes and convention. Also having the information in the center means that it is still visible and easy to read when the t-shirt is begin worn.
After following the steps shown above this is the concert t-shirt back I have created.
Concert Ticket Two Development
This is the original image I have selected to position on the concert ticket I am going to create. I do not want to edit the actual image in any way, but I need to crop the bottom of the image so it is the correct size. It is important that the height of the image is correct as from my research I have noticed that concert tickets are all a similar size. To conform to the codes and conventions I need to ensure that my ticket is a similar size. After cropping the image n Photoshop I will save the image as a PSD and then place the image into the template I have created in Adobe Illustrator.
After placing the image into the template I have created in Illustrator (using my detailed designs to help me) I inserted a black box and marked the places which I am going to insert the main bulk of information about the concert Itself. From my research I have clearly been able to see the information that needs to be included and in what way it needs to be presented. By looking at this in detail I have ensured that my own designs will match and conform to the conventions of existing concert tickets as well as ensuring my work looks both professional and accurate.
To help separate the different pieces of information and to make the concert ticked both attractive and interesting. From looking at exiting concert tickets I have been able to see that this can be achieved in a verity of ways. I have decided that I will separate the information will a white line (which I have inserted above) broken with a red rose. This red rose matches the house style set my my group, and links to the theme of the music video we are creating and the theme of the concert.
After finding the rose using the google search engine I opened the rise into Photoshop to save the file as a PSD. I then placed the file into illustrator and positioned the roses within the template. This is shown in the print screen below.
The next step in the creation of the concert ticket was to insert the information the purchaser would expect to and need to see and know. The first thing that I did was insert Vanessa Carlton name, in the font we have agreed as a group, should always be used for her name. (as shown below). This has helped to create a brand identity for Vanessa Carlton. I then positioned the text box in the center of the space I have created on the left hand side at the head of the ticket. I have decided to place her name here as this is the first part of the ticket the viewer will look at. As well as this is the commonly used place to position the artists name. (I found this whilst researching concert tickets)
The next step was to insert all of the information commonly seen on a concert ticket. I could see from my research that the following information is featured and is a code and convention. When looking at existing concert tickets I could clearly see that the information on the concert ticket is presented in the same type of font which has a type writer effect. I have found a similar font style which I have used to ensure I conform, not subvert to the codes and conventions.. The name of the font style is shown below.
I have also altered the size, letter spacing and thickness of the font. I have ensured that the most important information stands out from the page and is eye catching. Using these different effects on the font is commonly used on existing products to ensure that viewer takes in the most important pieces of information. This is all shown in the print screens below.
I have ensured that all of the information I have inserted into the black box on the left hand side is centre aligned in the box. I have done this so the concert ticket looks both neat and professional. After inserting all of the necessary information I positioned a bar code which is a code and convention and it important for it to be included.
Now that I have completed the left hand side of the concert ticket I will now complete the right hand side. The right hand side will feature in information specifically for the purchaser of the ticket. I have decided to position the image in the centre of this information to break up the information and to make the concert ticket look professional. Down the left hand side I have inserted a red box with a white box inside. I have deiced to use a red box as this not only a color which contrasts the black and makes the white stand out but also sticks to the color scheme my group has created. Within the white box I am going to position the information unique to that specific purchaser. I am going to ensure that I use the same font as I have used for the other information to shown consistency and again alter the line spacing and width of the text. This is shown in the print screens below.
After inserting the text I have rotated the boxes so the information is vertical. this further draws the viewers eye and makes the ticked interesting and eye catching. This also enables the left of the ticket to be ripped off at entry and easily red. This will not spoil the ticket which some people would wish to keep as having the text vertical ensures that less of the ticket is removed by the staff at the venue.
Lastly to conform to the codes and conventions I am gong to insert the information of the venue for example the logo and name and a color hologram. From my research I have be able to see that these are necessary features that need to be included on a professional concert ticket. In have chosen to position these pieces of information over the top of the image. I have decided to do this as they stand out an are eye catching.
This is the completed concert ticket after following the steps above.

Concert T-Shirt One Development
This is the original image which I took on the Green Screen. I carefully planned this image as from my research I had been able to see that for the type of concert ticket I wanted to create I needed an image which I could crop to focus on Melissa's (Vanessa's) face.
I opened the image into Adobe Photoshop and firstly cropped the image and then used the magic want tool to remove the background. These stops are shown in the two print screens below.
After removing the background I decided to slightly blur the image as I felt this effect was suitable for the concert ticket.
After editing the image I then used the Google search engine to search for a heart shape made out of petals. I decided to do this the the petals and heart fit in with the theme of the music video and concerts that I am creating the T-shirt for. I opened the image in to a second Photoshop document and began by cropping the petals I did not need.
After cropping out the petals I didn't need, I found that there where still more petals I didn't need but I was unable to crop them out. To solve this problem I used the eraser. As I did not want the edges of the heart to look harsh or sharp, I selected the eraser with the blurred edges. I also decided to do this as the effect matches the one I have used on the image.
This print screen shows me using the blur tool. After using the blur tool I moved several off the petals to create a solid heart shape. Which is shown in the print screen below.
After creating the heart shape I placed the image which I had edited before and saved in to this Photoshop document.
After opening the image into the same document as the heart. I dragged the layer containing the heart image above the image of Melissa (Vanessa). This now mean I was able to correctly position the image within the heart.
This is the final image I have created. I then saved the image as a PSD.
After completing the image I opened a blank Illustrator document. I then used the google search engine to find a black concert t-shirt. I them imported the image in to Illustrator. After importing the concert t-shirt into Illustrator I placed the PSD of Melissa (Vanessa) into Illustrator. After positioning the image I created Three text box's. In the first I wrote Vanessa, in the second Carlton and in the third and X. I then grouped the text boxes and right clicked. I then selected transform and rotate. This meant I could rotate the text at any angle. I also ensured that I used the agreed font for Vanessa Carlton's name, the name of this font is shown below.sing this font there will be links shown throughout the different ancillary tasks each member of the group creates. Having this link is a common code and convention and ensures our products look professional.
This is the concert t-shirt front I have created after following the steps above.
Now I will begin creating the back part of the concert t-shirt. To begin the creation of the back of the t-shirt I opened a new illustrator document and imported the black t-shirt. The next step I took was to insert the logo our group has created (VC). I then wrote the year of the tour and left a space for the tour name as it is not yet finalised.
After doing this I then inserted a text box and wrote a list of concert dates and in what venue they are being held. I decided to center align this information as form my research I saw this was a code and convention. Furthermore I separated the concerts at each different venue. I decided to so this so the different venues where clear and could easily be seen.
This is the final version after I have taken the steps above.
